Iona

Iona

Just off the coast of the Isle of Mull lies the small but beautiful island of Iona. Just three miles long by twelve miles wide, aside from having a natural beauty and abundance of wildlife that makes it a walker’s paradise, Iona is famous for the coming of Saint Columba from Ireland in 563AD. The Saint founded a small Celtic Monastery here, and for 34 years strived to introduce Christianity to the Scottish mainland (and beyond).
During the middle ages, Iona was the site of a Benedictine abbey and over the centuries it has attracted many thousands of people on their own pilgrim journeys. Today Iona is home to an ecumenical community of men and women, founded in 1938 by the Rev. George MacLeod, and is committed to seeking new ways of living the gospel of Jesus Christ in today’s world.

Choose from a selection of pilgrimage tour options shown below, or contact us to discuss a tailor-made itinerary to suit your own group's requirements.
