ICT Training Centre Santiago de Compostela is a legendary city on two accounts. The tomb of the Apostle St James (Santiago in Spanish) was discovered here. Also this ‘city of stone’ is of such great beauty. The city has the goal of thousands of pilgrims who, by following the Pilgrim's Way (Camino) have come from all over Europe to worship the Apostle.

Pope Calixtus II granted the Church of Santiago de Compostela the ‘Jubileo pleno del Aņo Santo’, and King Alejandro III declared this an everlasting honour which made Santiago a Holy City in the same vein as Jerusalem and Rome. The Aņo Santo (Holy Year) is held every time the festivity of St James the Apostle (July 25th) falls on a Sunday. The opening of the Holy Door (Puerta Santa) on December 31st of the previous year marks the beginning of the celebrations. This means that 2004 is a Holy Year, and a magical time to visit this beautiful place.

Day 5 Travel to Pontevedra. The Ria de Pontevedra resembles a Scandinavian fjord with its steep and forested sides. Visit the Church of San Francisco and the Monastery of Santa Maria.

Day 6 Travel to A Coruņa. The major port of the A Coruņa has a still functional Roman Lighthouse, and it was from here that the ill-fated Spanish Armada set sail. Today A Coruņa is a weathly, pleasant city with attractive squares and churches.
