Why not combine your pilgrimage to the Holy Island with a visit to York and Durham. The religious connections between Durham and Lindisfarne are historically significant, and in Durham you will have the opportunity to see the Shrine of St Cuthbert. As for York, the Minster here is the largest Gothic Cathedral in Northern Europe, a building of glorious medieval architectural achievement with one of the finest collections of stained glass in existence as well as some superb tapestries.

Choose from a 4 or 5 day pilgrimage tour option. The 5-day tour visits the same destinations, but gives a bit more time to take in these great locations.

4 Day Pilgrimage by Coach from only  £385pp*

Morning Afternoon Evening Day 1 Depart from local church by coach to York, and (subject to availability) enjoy a guided tour of York Minster. Overnight in York. Day 2 Depart York and travel to Berwick upon-Tweed (or nearby location). The afternoon can then be spent at leisure exploring this quaint town with small shops and pleasant quayside. Overnight in Berwick upon-Tweed (or similar). Day 3 Transfer to by coach (approximately 10 miles) to Holy Island of Lindisfarne for the day, explore the churches, priory, castle and other ruins before returning to Berwick. Day 4 Transfer to Durham for a guided visit to Durham Cathedral and the Shrine of St Cuthbert (again, subject to availability – do book early). Later, return journey home.

5 Day Pilgrimage by Coach  from only £449pp*

Morning Afternoon Evening Day 1 Depart from church for transportation to York. Overnight in York. Day 2 A tour of York Minster (subject to availability) before going on to Berwick-upon- Tweed (or similar). Day 3 Visit to Lindisfarne as with the four-day pilgrimage. Day 4 From Berwick, on to Durham to see the Cathedral and Shrine of St Cuthbert. Opportunity to explore the Castle (a World Heritage site). Overnight in Durham. Day 5 After breakfast, depart Durham for the return home.
