The apparition in 1917 has led to Fatima, in Portugal, being a major place of pilgrimage for thousands every year. The Basilica and the Stations of the Cross form the centre of pilgrimage, but there is also Aljustrel, where the children who saw the vision were born, and the Calvary Chapel. There is also much to see in the spectacular National Park of Serra de Aire and the medieval castle of Ourem. It is possible to combine Fatima with a visit to Santiago de Compostela or Lourdes, using a combination of air and coach travel. 	Day 1 Fly from the UK to Lisbon and transfer to the hotel. Free time to explore the Sanctuary. Day 2 Visit the Postulacao, telling the story of Fatima. See the models of the Cova da Iria, at the time of the apparitions and now. Visit the Basilica and the Capelinha. Day 3 Visit the Parish Church, where the children were baptised, and the graveyard where they were first buried. Continue to Aljustrel to see the homes of the children and the well, the place of the second apparition. Travel on to Valinhos, where Our Lady appeared on the 19th August. Walk the Stations of the Cross, ending at the Chapel of St Stephen of Hungary. See also the Loca do Anjo where the Angel of Peace visited the children. Day 4 The day is free to explore independently. Day 5 Depart Fatima for Lisbon by coach. If there is time visit the birthplace of St Anthony of Padua and Lisbon Cathedral. Return flight to the UK.

Day 2 Walking tour of Santiago, of course including the stunning Cathedral, the final resting place of the bones of St James. Savour the atmosphere of this hallowed city, wandering through the winding stone streets. Overnight in Santiago de Compostela. Day 3 Travel to Lugo and explore this old town surrounded by a complete Roman Wall. From here follow the final part of the Pilgrim Road to Santiago, having the opportunity to walk a part of the Camino and sample the experience of being a walking pilgrim. Overnight in Santiago de Compostela. Day 4 Travel to Fatima by coach, stopping at Braga along the way for free time to visit the amazing Bom Jesus Church. Continue onto Fatima.
