Just off the coast of the Isle of Mull you will find Iona, which is home to an ecumenical community of men and women seeking new ways of living the Gospel. The island is only 3 miles long by 1.5 miles wide. Iona is most famous for the coming of St Columba from Ireland in 563. The Saint founded a small Celtic Monastery here, and for 34 years carried on his work of introducing Christianity to the Scottish mainland, and even as far south as Switzerland until his death in 597. The island's natural beauty and abundance of wildlife make's it a walker's paradise. 	This itinerary is for groups that are located close enough to their destination to reach it in one day, and then stay in the hotel on Iona. Day 1 Depart from church and travel by coach to Oban. Take the ferry to Craignure and cross the Isle of Mull. Take the foot ferry to Iona and check into the hotel. Days 2 and 3 The whole day is free to explore Iona including the restored Abbey. Day 4 Take the foot ferry across to Mull and take the return ferry from Craignure to Oban for some free time. Depart Oban for the return journey home.

	This itinerary is for groups that will require an overnight stop, reaching Iona the next day. The overnight stops are based on a pretty region of the Lake District, but can be elsewhere if you choose. Day 1 Depart from church and travel by coach to the Lake District. Check in to the hotel for free time and overnight. Day 2 Depart the Lake District and continue on the journey to Oban. From here take the ferry to Craignure and cross the Isle of Mull. Take the foot ferry to Iona and check into the hotel for overnight. Days 3 and 4 The whole day is free to explore Iona including the restored Abbey. Day 5 Take the foot ferry across to Mull and take the return ferry from Craignure to Oban. From here travel to the Lake District once again to enjoy some free time. Overnight in the Lake District. Day 6 Free time in the morning, before departing from the Lake District for the return journey home.
