If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are at your service.

DO YOU HAVE A VARIETY OF GROUP SIZES?

We can accommodate a variety of different group sizes. The minimum number for which we quote tour prices is usually 20 people, but for certain destinations it may be possible to have smaller groups.

WHAT TYPE OF ACCOMMODATION IS PROVIDED?

We have built up a detailed understanding of the requirements of pilgrimage groups. Accommodation has been selected either by Tours for Churches staff or by our agents with these requirements in mind.

We indicate in the brochure either specific accommodation which is frequently used, or we describe the category of accommodation used. You will normally be accommodated in twin bedded rooms.

Single rooms are available with the payment of an additional supplement.

ARE MEALS INCLUDED?

The standard meal basis of tours is half-board. Where full-board is provided this may be a combination of a packed lunch and restaurant-based meals. Not all establishments can provide hot lunches.

ACCESSIBILITY

If any members of your group have a physical disability or require wheelchair access, it is important that you inform us as early as possible so we can cater to their needs.

WHAT IF I HAVE SPECIAL REQUESTS?

Whilst we offer a number of set itineraries, we are keen to ensure that the pilgrimage you and your group embark upon is suited to your specific needs and expectations.

There may be a specific change that you want to make or a particular location you are keen to include. We will liaise with our extensive contacts and, where possible, we will help to organise your bespoke excursion.

HOW DO I CHOOSE A PILGRIMAGE?

All of our pilgrimages are designed for groups rather than individuals. This means that the choice will inevitably fall to you as group leader. You could choose a pilgrimage based on destination, content or relevance to your own church. If you need advice, our friendly team are happy to help you decide which pilgrimage may best match your group’s needs on.

HOW DO I PROMOTE MY PILGRIMAGE?

Tours for Churches will help make this task both easy and fun for you. Not only can we offer you advice about how to encourage interest within your congregation, but once you have an idea of where you would like to go we’ll also provide you with a supply of high-quality posters, leaflets and literature to help you on your way.

DO I NEED VACCINATIONS?

We will inform you of any recommended and essential vaccinations with your travel documentation.

WHAT ARE THE TRAVEL DATES AND FLIGHT OPTIONS?

We offer daily departures (subject to availability) for all of our pilgrimages, whether you’re travelling by air or coach. We recognise that you may prefer to be away from your parish for only one Sunday (or none where possible) and for this reason many of our groups choose to travel on Monday or Tuesday.

When using low cost airlines we would recommend promoting your tour based on a flexible date basis in the event of availability or pricing issues at time of booking. We recommend you book as early as possible to get the best times and prices.

STRUGGLING FOR NUMBERS?

Some of our past group leaders have reported great success in arranging Italian or Greek-themed evenings and have used these as an opportunity to explain the principle of pilgrimages – why not give it a try? Once you have booked with us, you will receive a free guidebook as the group leader, and have the option to receive Tours for Churches bags for each group member.

ARE VISAS NEEDED?

Tours for Churches will provide the necessary advice to enable groups to obtain visas. We  recommend that all visa requirements are completed at least two months prior to departure.

Non-British citizens may require Visas/Transit Visas, for which the individual is responsible and must apply for themselves. The cost of the visa is not included in tour prices.

Remember visa requirements may change and you must check the up to date information provided by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in good time before departure.

WHAT IS THE PRICE?

All prices are based on 30 paying passengers departing on selected dates during 2015-16 and include a free place ratio of 1 in 20. All air prices are based on departures from a London airport. Departures from some UK regional airports are also available although a supplement may apply. Where applicable, coach prices are based on selected departure points and are subject to EU driver’s regulations. Please be aware the price at time of booking may be different depending on the time of year you wish to travel. Please ask when requesting a quotation.

MINI-CRUISE EXTENSIONS IN GREECE AND CYPRUS

If you opt for one of our mini-cruises, due to the set embarkation days of the week, we will need to advise you which day to depart from the UK. Please call us to discuss details of the various routes we can offer departing from the UK. The cruise ships are of a 3-star standard and are on a half-board basis. When on board the cruise ship you are taken care of by the local guides for the shore excursions and allocated staff members on board the ship.
