Turkey offers unforgettable shrines, basilicas, fortresses, beautiful architecture, and impressive archaeological and Christians sites. During the pilgrimage we visit the seven churches Christianity from the book of Revelation, Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.

Whilst exploring the white mineral hot springs at Pamukkale and seeing the place where St Paul in in Ephesus and the burial chamber of St John and the last home of the Virgin Mary in Selcuk. We have the opportunity to extend our pilgrimage to include Istanbul and visit the breath-taking Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque.


Istanbul is Turkey’s largest city, located at the gateway to Europe and Asia. For thousands of years Istanbul has been thriving it offers preserved churches, palaces, Ottoman mosques and bazaars from the days of the old silk road to today’s modern cosmopolitan restaurants, bars, galleys and shop. Why not extend your stay in turkey and Istanbul’s magnificent Topkapi palace and Blue Mosque.


The port of Izmir is cradled in Turkey’s Aegean Coast, until 1930s it was known as the town of Smyrna and is steeped in thousands of years of history and culture. You can absorb the beautiful views of the port and town from the fascinating velvet fortress above the city.

Pilgrimages to Turkey


Day 1

Fly to Izmir.

Day 2

Visit the ruins of the Velvet Fortress and the Ancient Agora of Smyrna, then go on to the Church of St Polycarp. Finally, drive north and visit the city of Pergamum, which towers above the modern city of Bergama.

Day 3

Drive to Thyatira, another of the Seven Churches before continuing to Sardis to see the Temple of Artemis, a Roman gymnasium and mosaics in the synagogue. From here travel to the site of Philadelphia and then to Pamukkale.

Day 4

Visit spectacular Pamukkale, with its calcium pools and the spa of hot mineral water. Visit the nearby necropolis at Hierapolis, and then drive to the site of Laodicea, situated on a plateau 100 feet above the Meander Valley, before heading for the coast.

Day 5

Visit the last of the Seven Churches of Asia, at Ephesus where St Paul lived – one of the most extensive and impressive archaeological sites in the world. Travel to Selcuk to see the church and burial chamber of St John and the last home of the Virgin Mary.

Day 6

A day of leisure in Kusadasi, which has an interesting harbour overlooked by a fortress. There are many shops selling carpets and other local handicrafts, as well as a beach. Alternatively, you can relax around the hotel.

Day 7

Free time subject to flights. Fly home.
